Award Screener Program announcement:
As you are aware, for the past two Awards seasons, a number of
the DVD screeners distributed to members have been protected by
Cinea's S-View encryption and Cinea provided DVD players to all
Film Voting Members, free of charge.
Cinea undertook the distribution of these DVD players and have
provided support over the last two years. Unfortunately, we will
not be able to support this program any longer. This was a very
difficult decision for us to make but, considering the expense
of the program, it does not make business sense to continue supporting
this large scale project. Instead, we will be focusing on other
anti-piracy programs for the film and cinema industry.
There is no action required on your part; you are welcome to
keep your player and you can continue to play standard and Cinea
encrypted DVDs on it. If, for any reason, you would like to return
the player to Cinea, please contact us on our free-phone number
(UK # 0800 954 8931) (US #888 323 4383) (Other 818-823-2878) and
we will arrange a collection.
Given the secure nature of these
players and the fact that they are still in use with other programs
to protect high-value content, please continue to honor the terms
of use and do not sell or give away your player.
